Cyber Essentials sets out the standard baseline for cyber security and offers protection from up to 80% of IT security breaches.
Developed by the UK Government in response to a growing cyber threat, it is a mandatory requirement for all Government supply chain contracts and a growing number of commercial tenders.
There are two levels of certification – basic Cyber Essentials is awarded to organisation that demonstrate, through the completion of an online self assessment questionnaire, that they have effective cyber security measures in place.
Cyber Essentials Plus is awarded when an organisation goes on to have their cyber controls audited to check they are working effectively. This must be completed within 3 months of obtaining the basic certificate. Have a read over our full Cyber Essentials Guide for more information.
