Finance & Business Administrator Vacancy

Salary:  £26,000 – £32,000 depending on experience

Reporting to: Office Manager

Hours: Ideally 37.5 hours per week, but would potentially consider part time for outstanding candidates

Location: Office Based, Malvern

Purpose of the Role

Are you an experienced finance and administration specialist looking to join a dynamic and expanding cybersecurity company?

Here at Assure Technical, we are looking for a Finance & Business Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team.  You will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the business.  Your primary responsibility will be for finance administration, as well as providing wider business administration and operational support. 

Reporting to the Office Manager, this role ensures the smooth running of financial processes, accurate record-keeping, and effective administrative support across additional areas of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with experience in finance administration and a flexible approach to supporting the wider needs of the business. Previous experience of using Xero is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer day-to-day finance administration across the business
  • Process sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Check the accuracy of purchase invoices and manage processing via Dext
  • Maintain accurate financial records within Xero
  • Manage credit control activities
  • Administer payment collection processes, including the use of GoCardless
  • Reconcile bank accounts and support cash flow monitoring
  • Support month-end, VAT-return and year-end processes
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaise with external accountants as required
  • Deal with all inbound accounts queries in a timely manner, communicating to clients and suppliers with confidence.
  • Maintain up-to-date finance process documentation
  • Support the business with additional business-wide administrative tasks as required

Skills and Attributes

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs (Level 5 or above), including English and Maths
  • Educated to A Level or Equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in finance administration
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Professional, friendly, and proactive approach
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Adept at using technology 
  • Experienced Xero accounting software user

Desirable

  • Business/Finance specific qualifications
  • Experience supporting finance processes within an SME environment
  • Experience assisting with wider business or operational administration
  • Experience in IT or Tech industry
  • Experience of using Dext or GoCardless
  • Experience of using CRM and Project Management Tools, such as Hubspot or ClickUp
  • Full, clean driving licence
