Purpose of the Role:

This is a key role with a wide range of responsibilities and duties that are important to the company’s day-to-day running. You will work directly with all team members to provide IT support, ensuring continuity of business operations. 

You will be responsible for providing first-class remote IT support and cyber security services to our expanding client portfolio, including helping them meet the requirements of the Cyber Essentials standards.

Who Should Apply:

This position would suit an individual who has gained at least one year’s experience working within a professional IT environment, is passionate about cybersecurity and wants to embark on a career in this field.

You will join our close-knit, award-winning team and receive comprehensive on-the-job training. Following the successful completion of your probation, a tailored cyber security career pathway will be mapped out, and the applicant will have the opportunity to undertake an Apprenticeship, such as Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist, and/or additional cyber qualifications.

Given the customer-facing nature of the position, you will need to be confident in taking on tasks involving a range of technologies and software for which you may have no prior experience and in dealing with end-users in a professional and friendly manner.

You are required to work in accordance with Assure Technical’s core values, and you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks. 

Job Location: Office-based in Malvern, with the potential to conduct onsite work with clients as required. 

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

Core responsibilities:

  • Perform 1st line IT support tasks including IT set-up, repairs, dealing with faults and handling IT-related queries
  • Install and maintain IT security software & hardware
  • Monitor and report to line manager on internal IT security issues
  • Assist with optimising the performance of business systems and networks
  • Investigate new technologies, providing suggestions as to their use in the Business
  • Assist with documenting IT processes and procedures for wider team use
  • Provide support to the business’s consultants in delivering a range of cyber services including; Cyber Essentials certifications and Cyber Awareness training 
  • Set up and maintain client accounts across various platforms
  • Provide direct support to clients to help them ensure their devices and systems are compliant with cyber frameworks
  • Selecting the right tools to troubleshoot a problem, for example, testing network issues, router logs and physical hardware
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility

  • Provide technical expertise as may be required by the business
  • Support and work with other business functions as required
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging threats
  • Keep up to date and comply with current IT legislation
  • Continually improve skills and knowledge in line with company objectives

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1+ years IT industry experience
  • 5+ GCSEs at grade 5 or above (including Maths and English) 
  • A/AS-Level/BTEC in IT or Computing 
  • Active interest in IT and cyber security

Desirable skills & experience

  • Working knowledge of Google Sheets, Slides and Docs (or the Microsoft equivalent)
  • Full clean driving licence
  • L3 Apprenticeship in IT or Computing 
  • Cybersecurity work experience 

Training:

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. Following successful completion of the probation period, a tailored cyber security career pathway will be mapped out, and there will be the opportunity to commence an apprenticeship and additional cyber qualifications.

Salary Range: £20,000 – £24,000 subject to experience
