Head of Sales - Cybersecurity

Position: Head of Sales- Cyber Security

Reporting to: Managing Director

Location: Malvern, Worcestershire

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: Competitive base + uncapped commission + benefits package

Overview:

Are you an ambitious and results-driven Senior Sales Leader with a proven track record in the IT/Cyber sector? 

We seek an experienced and high-calibre sales professional to take ownership of our sales strategy, execution, and growth within the cybersecurity sector. This newly created role is designed to facilitate our ambitious targets. It combines strategic leadership with direct business development – ideal for someone who thrives in leading high-performing teams and personally closing complex, high-value deals.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in scaling our commercial operations, expanding market share, and positioning the company as a trusted security partner across various industries.

The Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement a robust sales strategy aligned with the company’s vision and growth objectives.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across enterprise and mid-market sectors.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor and lead a high-performing sales team, instilling a culture of accountability, resilience, and excellence.
  • Revenue Ownership: Drive consistent revenue growth, margin performance, and sales KPIs across both new and existing accounts.
  • C-Level Engagement: Develop strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor in solving their cybersecurity challenges.
  • Sales Process Excellence: Oversee the full sales cycle for strategic deals, ensuring best-in-class pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, CRM discipline and Bid management.
  • Market Development: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, identifying new verticals and geographic expansion opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, technical pre-sales, client services and delivery teams to ensure go-to-market alignment and customer success.

About You:

You are a motivated self starter with natural flair for developing business and building trust-based relationships

You have a consultative selling style, capable of tailoring solutions to meet specific customer needs.

You are commercially aware and adept at identifying win-win opportunities.

You thrive in a target-driven environment and enjoy leading and coaching a high-performance team.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years in B2B technology or cybersecurity sales, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or hybrid leadership/sales role.
  • Strong track record in new business development and strategic account growth within the cybersecurity space.
  • Proven track record in cyber/IT sales, including Penetration Testing & Consultancy.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
  • An existing extensive network of corporate and mid-market key decision makers
  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling successful sales teams in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.
  • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape, including threat trends, buyer personas, and compliance drivers.
  • Skilled in building long-term client relationships, particularly at C-suite and senior IT levels.
  • Highly commercial with excellent negotiation, communication, and closing skills.
  • Proficient in CRM tools and data-driven sales management.
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • 5 GCSEs (Grade 5 and above) including Maths & English
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • Clean driving licence

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Exposure to partner/channel sales and alliance-building.
  • Formal sales methodology training (e.g. MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPIN, Sandler)
  • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth technology environment.
  • Degree-level education

Other things you should know:

You must have the right to work in the UK.

You will be required to perform tasks on-site at various locations across the UK and overseas.
